Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Control Inspector performs visual inspection of electronic cards, sub-assemblies, and systems to ensure they meet established specifications for reliability and workmanship. This role involves using various manufacturing aids such as gages, templates, and microscopes. The inspector ensures all required process operations have been completed and enters quality data into electronic or manual systems. They also provide feedback to manufacturing when non-conforming products are identified and assist with process audits and the disposition of non-conforming materials.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection of electronic cards, sub-assemblies, and systems to ensure they meet established specifications.

  • Utilize gages, templates, microscopes, and other manufacturing aids to ensure product reliability and workmanship.

  • Ensure all required process operations have been completed on the inspected product.

  • Enter quality data into appropriate electronic or manual systems.

  • Notify appropriate personnel if unusual product defects are identified or if process yields fall below acceptable levels.

  • Provide timely feedback to manufacturing when non-conforming product is identified.

  • Accurately complete all administrative activities associated with quality inspection.

  • Conduct process audits and assist manufacturing with the interpretation of quality and workmanship standards.

  • Assist with the disposition of non-conforming materials/products.

Essential Skills

  • Functional skills in quality control and inspection processes.

  • Basic functional process knowledge and participation in process improvement.

  • Understanding of inspection techniques.

  • Proficiency with tools such as color code, component, schematics, touch-up, commercial soldering, mechanical assembly, surface mount assembly, point to point wiring, and more.

  • Ability to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions.

  • Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group situations.

  • Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

  • Problem-solving skills involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with PCBA, gages, meteorology, SMT, Quality Assurance, Inspection, Quality Control, Calipers, QA, Quality Check, and visual inspection.

  • Proficiency in data entry, spreadsheet, and manufacturing systems software.

  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

This role also requires frequent lifting and moving up to 10 pounds.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milpitas, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
