The Closing team continues the momentum from the team’s day of hard work to finish strong; they take care of the guest until the doors close each night. They prioritize based on guest needs, have a deep understanding of each leader’s vision for their business, and have fun with the team while executing closing routines.

  • Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest-first culture across the store

  • Retail business fundamentals: department sales trends, pricing and promotion strategies, inventory management, process efficiency and improvement

  • Supporting daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

  • Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services

  • Communicating and interacting with all guests to build awelcomingguest experience

  • Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns

  • Ability to adapt to different guest interactions and situations

As a Closing Expert , no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.

  • Create a welcoming experience by greetingguests as you are completing your daily tasks.

  • When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.

  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.

  • Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.

  • Consistently execute closing routines to deliver a clean and organizedstore.

  • Support business area teams in completing closing tasks as dictated by daily priorities and guest traffic.

  • Support consistency in closing experience and routines in partnership with the Closing Team Leader or ETL.

  • Work in all departments to ensure sales floor is full, zoned and in stock for guests.

  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress and accurately prioritize tasks.

  • Operate powered equipment safely and only if certified.

  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.

  • Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.

  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU)Orders and Returns,and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.

  • All other duties as assigned

  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members

  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.

  • Work both independently and with a team

  • Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot

  • Willing to educate guests and engage around products and services

  • Attention to detail andfollow multi-step processes

  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed

  • Climb up and down ladders

  • Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others

  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) and reliable and prompt attendance necessary

  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.

  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
