Certified Medical Assistant II – Float Position
Mount Sterling, Lexington, Winchester, and Flemingsburg, KY
Job Summary / Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Certified Medical Assistant II (Float Position) to join our team. Under the direction of healthcare providers, the Medical Assistant II will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients. This position requires the ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and to travel between multiple office locations, including Mount Sterling, Lexington, Winchester, and Flemingsburg, KY . Candidates must be willing to float 50% of the time each week based on office and physician needs. Travel compensation will be provided for work at different locations.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities:
Provide general patient care in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Greet and prepare patients for their healthcare provider.
Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications.
Perform phlebotomy, collect lab specimens, and prepare them for analysis as required.
Administer ordered medications and vaccines via various routes, including oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and inhalant.
Conduct routine diagnostic tests such as EKGs when necessary.
Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follow up to ensure completion.
Communicate test results and care plans to patients as directed by the physician.
Maintain exam rooms by cleaning, stocking, sterilizing instruments, and disposing of contaminated materials per protocol.
Document patient care, tests, and examination results in the medical record.
Escalate non-routine issues to the practice manager or healthcare provider.
Complete safety checklists and quality control measures as required.
Ensure patient privacy and safety at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) .
Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-volume medical office is strongly preferred.
Ability and willingness to float between Mount Sterling, Lexington, Winchester, and Flemingsburg based on office and provider needs (approximately 50% travel each week ).
Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing exceptional patient care.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program. May require specialized training such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician (NCT).
Required Licensure and Certifications
Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required if applicable.
BLS – CPR certification required within 5 days
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
2 years Medical Assistant experience.
Ability to perform urine drug screens, administer injections.
Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients.
Demonstrated knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
Through knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations.
Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.
Maintains a positive, caring attitude towards patients.
Good computer skills using a medical management application.
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level or professionalism.

Pay Range
$17.04 - $23.43 /hour
