Actalent Mechanical Engineer in Munster, Indiana
A multi-disciplinary MEP consulting engineering firm located in Northwest Indiana is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to their team!
Job Description:
Manage and engineer large, complex projects; will be responsible for coordinating all aspects and phases of the project between the Architect, Owner, and Engineering Departments
Consult with project principals to determine requirements for project set-up and staff assignments and manage/organize the project kick-off meetings
Prepare and maintain timelines and schedules for the project
Consult with architects, owners, and principals, to compile project information
Reviewing plans and specifications for office quality standards, conformance to scope of work and design criteria and for general coordination issues
Manage attendance for design and construction phase meetings with the client
Assist in the preparation of project budget hours
Conduct engineering surveys, research, and code analysis/interpretation
Prepare engineering calculations and energy simulations
Select and specify systems and equipment
Prepare engineering reports
Prepare contract documents (plans and specifications)
Review shop drawings, respond to RFI’s, conduct site observation visits, prepare field reports, attend construction meetings
Communicate with architect and owner after completion of project
Coordinate with marketing department to obtain marketing information/photographs of project
Assist in the training of new and existing employees.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
7+ years of experience
Revit proficiency
Building design experience
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr.
