We're looking for 2 Software Development Engineers to join our Brightly team in Cairo, Egypt.

Brightly Software is expanding and seeking exceptional engineers. This opportunity is ideal for talented individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment. New team members will collaborate closely with our experienced engineers and product team to conceptualize, develop, deliver, and support our ambitious range of products and integrations. Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative and high-performance features for our next-generation software applications.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of computer science and programming principles to devise creative solutions.

  • Write clear and maintainable full-stack code within a professional software engineering environment, utilizing source control, streamlined release cycles, continuous integration and deployment, and more.

  • Incorporate quality into the entire product lifecycle—from requirements through design, coding, testing, delivery, and ongoing support.

  • Support our products, diagnose root causes of production incidents, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Design, implement, and document libraries and frameworks to facilitate scalable development across multiple projects.

  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends, mentor junior developers and interns, and foster a culture of learning and growth.

  • Employ data-driven analysis and make pragmatic decisions aligned with business and technology objectives, ensuring both immediate deliveries and long-term solutions.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and architects in an agile environment, adhering to scaled scrum practices globally.

  • Embrace change and complexity, demonstrating agility and a proactive approach to leadership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (3-5 years).

  • Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, databases, SQL, web programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.

  • Experience in web development, JavaScript frameworks, and UI/UX technologies.

  • Knowledge of REST services, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and microservices.

  • Familiarity with unit testing, mocking frameworks, and automation frameworks.

  • Experience in a mature CI/CD SDLC environment, including exception handling, logging, monitoring, and performance measurement.

  • Proficiency in agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.

Bonus Points:

  • Contributions to open-source projects, personal repositories, or other personal projects.

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).

  • Active participation in technology communities, meetups, etc.

  • Certifications in relevant technologies or agile methodologies.

  • Previous experience with scaled agile implementations across multiple global teams.

Tools and Technologies:

While proficiency in the following is preferred, we prioritize great engineers over specific language/tool backgrounds:

  • .NET Framework 4.7+ and .NET Core

  • ASP.NET MVC and Web API 2

  • Entity Framework

  • SQL Server 2016/2019

  • Visual Studio 2019/2022 (including ReSharper)

  • VueJS and Bootstrap

  • Continuous Integration and Delivery tools like TeamCity and AWS CodeDeploy

  • Test Automation using combinations like NUnit and Cypress

  • Hadoop, Scala, Kafka
