Amex Digital Labs is responsible for catalyzing digital innovation at American Express by originating, incubating, and leading emerging products and partnerships that represent significant business building opportunities both in terms of driving revenue and customer impact. We strive to emphasize creativity, customer centricity, and innovation. Focus areas include crafting industry-leading digital payment & commerce solutions, using our outstanding servicing network and lifestyle assets to build digital experiences, and defining new products and services based on emerging technologies and trends.
The Product Operations team at Amex Digital Labs is responsible for evolving our product foundation to maximize enterprise value, excellence, and efficiency. We do this by driving enterprise stakeholder alignment and prioritization for Labs products, gathering and analyzing data to make business decisions, streamlining workflows and strengthening cross-team collaboration.
We’re looking for a Product Operations Manager to join our team to support our product portfolio, drive a culture of product excellence, manage our product roadmap and lead process improvement and standardization efforts. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about streamlining and improving ways of working, as well as promoting best practices across different teams.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Support enterprise-wide annual and iterative planning processes to ensure Labs’ products are prioritized across the company; Partner with key stakeholders to align on product requirements, sizing, potential trade-offs, capacity, prioritization shifts, etc.
Define and implement thorough product documentation standards and processes, creating templates and governance mechanisms that enable self-service and reduce information silos.
Promote a culture of accurate and consistent product documentation across all product teams;Ensure teams are accountable for updating key documentation on an ongoing basis
Manage Labs’ product roadmap, using it as a tool for stakeholder socialization and to derive key insights that help drive product decisions
Identify and implement ways to strengthen the collaboration and communication between product and engineering, focusing on a one-team culture
Evaluate current business processes and lead initiatives that focus on optimizing current workflows and improving ways of working across all product teams
Support ad-hoc requests from broader team, such as managing partner invoices, ensuring external partners meet third-party requirements, proper prioritization of projects, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in product development or product operations
Skilled at analyzing complex data and translating findings into clear, actionable insights with strong written and verbal communication to effectively influence decision-makers
Strong relationship management skills, with a focus on bringing others along
Ability to pivot and prioritize quickly, and support several projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and willing to roll up their sleeves and jump in
Has a passion for improving workflows and streamlining processes
Exudes positivity, requires minimal supervision, and has a strong work ethic
Experience in working with technical and product development teams is a plus
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
