Bright Horizons Accountant in Newton, Massachusetts
As an Accountant at Bright Horizons, you will be primarily responsible for the accuracy and completeness of our financial statements for the respective area of the business that you support. You will take part in ensuring the month end P&L and Balance Sheet transactions are posted timely and will support other areas of the business with related queries. At times you may be asked to speak with external parties, such as clients, and require attention to detail, timeliness, and professionalism. You will receive support from your manager and team as you master the skills to be a successful Accountant at Bright Horizons.
This Hybrid role requires in-person work at our Newton, MA headquarters.

Responsibilities:
Timelyandaccuratepostingofaccountingtransactionsasitpertainstotheareaofthebusiness you support
Completionandreviewofbalancesheetreconciliations,withcarefulattentiontoensuringfluctuationsandbalancesareappropriate
Reviewoperatingresultswithseniormanagement,includingvariancestobudgetandforecast where necessary
Identifyandescalateanyrisksandopportunitiesasyoubecomeawareofthem
Collaborateandcommunicatewiththewiderfinanceteammembers
Evidencepreventativeanddetectivecontrolstomanagement
Reportfinancialinformationtothebusinessandsupportwithfollowupqueries
Workprofessionallyasatrustedpartnertointernalandexternalcustomers
Keepuptodatewithorganizationalchanges,financialregulations,andthemarketplace
Respondtimelyandappropriatelytoissuesrequiringconfidentiality
Performad-hocanalysisasrequired
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, other related field or 2 years experience in an Accounting role in lieu of degree
1-3 years of professional experience in Accounting or other financial department roles
