Need 5 full time, temporary, seasonal Farmworkers / Laborers to work in Northfield, MN. From: 04/01/2025 to 11/07/2025 Work: 44 hrs./week, Mon. - Fri. 8 hrs./day, Sat. 4 hrs./day, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start/end times. Employer may request, but not require that workers work more than the stated daily hours, on the worker s Sabbath, or on federal holidays. All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week must be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Must Apply By: 07/25/2025 JOB DESCRIPTION: Operate Farm equipment, small engine lawn tractors/mowers, tractors, box delivery truck, Tractor-drawn machinery, and self propelled machinery like tillers and pallet jacks. Workers with valid Dl may be asked to operate company vehicles. maintaining a clean work environment on the farm and the farmhouse. Regular cleaning of delivery and harvest materials and operation of the washing machine. also, responsible for documenting and following all safety procedures. Safely and efficiently follow procedures to wash and pack produce properly. Also, responsible for labeling, stacking delivery pallets and loading them into a truck. Safely and efficiently follow procedures to harvest produce properly including bunching, grading, sorting, and storage by hand. Also, responsible for documenting harvest and labeling. Bulk harvest of some seasonal produce. Cleaning, weeding, maintaining grounds, and landscaping, organizing, and minor repair and maintenance of tunnels, farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Weeding, trellising, lowering and leaning, and pruning greenhouse plants. Assist in preparing tunnels for planting including laying irrigation and fabric. Haul and spread topsoil, compost, and fertilizer to the soil. Responsible for weeding and plant maintenance throughout the season in addition to regulating greenhouse conditions and repair and maintain irrigation and climate control systems. Also, responsible for assisting in tunnel clean-up including removing plant and waste material. Assist in preparing fields for planting including laying irrigation, shaping beds, and laying plastic. Responsible for weeding and plan maintenance throughout the season. Also responsible for assisting in field clean-up at the end of the year including removing plant and waste material. In the field: organizing trays, documenting planting, hand translating into beds (with or without tractor) in the Tunnel: organizing trays, documenting planting, hand transplanting plants into beds or pots. Shoveling dirt, moving dirt, filling flats, operating flat filler, seeding , operating the seeding machine and labeling. Also, responsible for moving flats in the greenhouse and loading carts for delivery or transplanting. Paid Sick Leave: Twin Organics will provide all full time employees 48 hours (6 days) of paid sick leave starting on the first day of their employment. The hours earned and used are posted on every employee s pay stub. The complete sick leave policy will be provided during orientation. Hours will be paid out at the normal pay rate. Crops- Bell Pepper, Brussels, Collards, Carrots, Celery, Cucumber, Cabbage, Kale, Collards, Garlic, Hard Squash, Kale, Leafy Arugula, Melons, Nursery Plants, Onions, Radish, Spinach, Sprouts, Squash, Tomato, Turnip, Watermelon, Zucchini JOB REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) months experience. Able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Able to perform work while exposed to extreme temperatures, with extensive pushing, pulling, walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements. No high school diploma or GED is required. Must have understanding of basic English and/or Spanish. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyon normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
