Annual Salary:

$163,000 - $190,000 for full-time status; based on experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Community Health Center of the North Country is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in Upstate New York. CHCNC provides high quality healthcare services to the surrounding communities and offers a sliding fee scale. With four locations, CHCNC is a growing healthcare organization that offers primary, acute, and pediatric medical care, dental services, physical therapy, and behavioral health services to the local communities. The sliding fee scale ensures that uninsured or underinsured patients receive the same quality of care as those individuals who are commercially insured. Our team is seeking highly-skilled and compassionate candidates for two Dentist positions in our Ogdensburg Health Center, which includes an up-to-date dental suite with state of the art equipment and a robust hygiene team. Candidates will provide primary dental care including diagnostic, preventative, operative, surgical, and removable prosthetic services in a FQHC setting.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide dental care, diagnose, and treat dental conditions, and promote oral health

  • Perform dental examinations and routine check-ups for patients

  • Discuss a treatment plan with the patient, family, and/or guardian

  • Implement procedures for assuring prophylactic antibiotic coverage for patients requiring such before dental treatment

  • Maintain records of patients and prescriptions

  • Ability to work collaboratively with dental staff

  • Foster a positive working environment that promotes transparency, learning, and open communication

  • Make appropriate referrals when necessary

  • Participate in group conferences where expertise is required

  • Ensure all patient records are up-to-date in eCW

  • Provide post-treatment instructions to patients and staff

  • Consult with the Dental Director when equipment needs to be repaired or new equipment purchased

  • Ensure infection control policies and procedures are followed

  • Follow the progress of Dental Lab (prosthetic) cases and ensure records are accurate

  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and trainings to ensure patients receive the highest quality care

  • Conduct quarterly peer reviews

Requirements

  • DMD or DDS from an accredited dental institution

  • Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in NYS (or in the process of applying for licensure)

  • DEA registration (or in the process of applying for registration)

  • BLS certification

  • Knowledge of eClinical Works (eCW), preferred

  • Ability to effectively interact with patients calmly and courteously

  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with others

  • Exhibit a high level of confidentiality in dealing with patient records

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods

  • Ability to tolerate extensive exposure to a computer screen and keyboard
