Director Quality Engineering
What does a successful Director Quality Engineering do at Fiserv?
You will lead a strong quality engineering team with a focus on scaling the organization and practices to deliver best-in-class functionality and usability. Your role will involve managing direct reports and driving both waterfall and agile product delivery across multiple teams. You will work in partnership with application development and business units to establish strategic and operational testing practices. This position is crucial to the continual development and implementation of transformative programs to improve quality within the organization.
What you will do:
Lead and mentor a team of quality engineering professionals to achieve organizational goals and drive modern quality practices and standards across the transformation program
Champion a culture of quality delivery through development engineering and product management
Develop and implement automated testing practices to ensure high-velocity, high-quality delivery
Establish data conditioning practices to manage multiple testing environments supporting client needs
Track and report on all quality metrics at team, process, and production operating levels, and make data-driven recommendations to enhance operational excellence and lead the implementation of new processes
Provide leadership in test design and implementation across all levels of testing, including unit, functional, automation, performance, and scalability testing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality through the software development lifecycle
Mentor and coach testing careers through continual development and success
What you will need to have:
10+ years of related technical and business leadership experience
10+ years of management experience leading large teams using various SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
9+ years of experience with test automation initiatives
7+ years of experience in development of CI/CD or DevOps Testing Models
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent military experience
What would be great to have:
Experience in the financial services payments industry
Strong experience in a micro/macro-service architecture environment
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Strong organizational skills with experience leading from the front
Preference for candidates with a degree in CS, Engineering, or another technical/analytical degree.
