Interfor Commodity Lumber Trader in Peachtree City, Georgia
When you join our team as a Commodity Lumber Trader , you will be responsible for managing sales for a defined set of customer accounts associated with Interfor’s Southern Yellow Pine and/or Eastern Spruce suite of products. You will be working in a team environment to sell commodity lumber to key accounts, managing relationships, and drive strategic company objectives. Day to day activities involve sales negotiations, contract management, and team communication to maximize mill margins.
What You’ll Do
Achieve sales targets and minimize inventory.
Develop and implement sales strategies that maximize mill margins.
Achieve an understanding of customer market segment and or customer distribution targets.
Work to understand customer and operational needs and develop programs or products accordingly.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all members of the Sales and Marketing team and provide insight on current market trends and competitor activities.
Identify and analyze market trends and develop new accounts.
Ensure corporate credit standards are maintained.
Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers and generate new accounts.
Learn sales administration and sales processes by completing rotation in sales office.
Extract and evaluate sales and logistics data to ensure delivery performance and quality metrics are met.
Represent sales at appropriate logistics and negotiation meetings.
Identify challenges and opportunities in the sales process to maximize margins.
What You Offer
More than 5 years of related sales experience
Post-secondary education required
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to travel within the state of Georgia with the exception of some customer visit or trade shows that may be in other states
Detailed knowledge of North American lumber market
Bring a high degree of honesty and integrity in all situations
Self-motivated and accountable in achieving quality and timely results.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills to succeed in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment
