    The Position

    Responsible for project management activities related to Automation. Responsible for oversight of the scope, design, budget & schedule for the projects in the portfolio.

    Relationships

    Manager, Senior Manager.

    Essential Functions

  • Responsible for executing Automation projects of various complexities within a GMP manufacturing setting

  • Manage the deliverables & personnel within the project to ensure project objectives are met as it relates to cost, quality & delivery

  • Manage the triple constraints of budget, timeline & scope to meet expectations of both customers & management

  • Responsible for adherence to mechanism for monitoring project progress, intervention & problem solving with other line managers or personnel

  • Responsible for leading project teams of various expertise to complete end to end project execution

  • Collaborate with cross functional work process owners to ensure tasks & requirements are complete

  • Adjust priorities to multiple demands & unanticipated events; demonstrates flexibility in response to changing circumstances

  • Responsible for timely communication to management & other relevant stakeholders

  • Assist with required training of personnel supporting the project

  • Ensure installation, troubleshooting, qualification & validation of equipment meets all commitments laid out by the overall project

  • Responsible for development & execution of projects identified as process needs & improvement opportunities

  • Follows all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties

  • Other duties as assigned

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field from an accredited university required

  • May consider an associate’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field from an accredited college with a minimum of seven (7) years of automation experience in a manufacturing facility

  • May consider a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of nine (9) years of automation experience in a manufacturing facility

  • Minimum five (5) years of automation and project management experience in manufacturing required

  • Minimum five (5) years manufacturing experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment preferred

  • Minimum of five (5) years proven project management skills required

  • Excellent technical writing & oral communication skills & excellent presentation & facilitation skills required

  • Expert knowledge in being a project team leader with excellent negotiation & conflict resolutions skills preferred

  • Capable of establishing & communicating high standards & expectations for performance & holding team members accountable for results preferred

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization required

  • Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy & authority preferred

  • Strong analytical/reasoning, organizational & multi-tasking skills required

  • High level understanding of infrastructure services & manufacturing automation systems required

  • Expert in cGMP documentation practice & understanding of change control processes preferred

  • Expert understanding of validation/system development life cycle approach preferred

  • Basic computer skills including experience in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. required

  • Organization/Planning: Proven expertise in planning/organizing managing execution & revising the work plan for cross functional project teams. Meets objectives demonstrating strong change management skills preferred
