Director

provides strategic direction to the County with respect to compensation, benefits, human resources information systems, employee relations, and compliance with county, federal, and state laws. The Human Resources Director

is responsible for

payroll and benefits administration

.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains in new staff in the department.

  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.

  • Provides constructive feedback on job performance.

  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with county policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.

  • Plans lead, develop , coordinate , and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.

  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.

  • Conducts salary studies, research salary and benefit information for use in the collective bargaining process, budget preparation, and cost analysis .
