Responsibilities
Job Summary
The System Manager, Specialty Pharmacy Operations acts as the pharmacist in charge and is responsible for the management and dispensing of retail and specialty pharmaceuticals within the CommonSpirit Specialty Pharmacy program .
The manager will be the primary interface to the local specialty clinics (leaders, physicians, clinicians) and accountable for day-to-day operations of the specialty pharmacy dispensing team. Manager will be responsible for: overseeing specialty pharmacy staff and workflow, mail-order services, specialty pharmacy inventory management, billing and charge capture reconciliation, assurance of continuous quality of services, medication safety, regulatory compliance, customer service, vendor relations, and the financial performance for the specialty program (budgetary and profitability). Ensures adherence to all pharmacy policies and procedures.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Medication Management: Responsible for the development and implementation of practices that promote safe and accurate drug distribution, management of controlled substances, and managing quality improvement initiatives in the Dignity Health Specialty Pharmacy program.
Clinic relationships and operations: Collaborates with clinic leaders, physicians and other stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure appropriate use of medications and reduce the risk of drug related problems.
Regulatory and Accreditation: Ensures compliance and implementation of all national, state, and local regulations related to ambulatory pharmacy services. In coordination with the Retail Pharmacy Manager, responsible for obtaining and maintaining pharmacy resident and non-resident licensure and ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws associated with all licenses and accreditation.
Supply Chain Management: Responsible for the development, integration, coordination and ongoing support for the purchasing, and stocking of all appropriate medications, and supplies associated with providing patient care.
Financial Management: Participates in planning and preparation of the annual operating budget, and overall growth and business strategies of the organization.
Management of Staff: Oversees the scheduling and day to day activities of the specialty pharmacy staff and ensures that staffing model is conducive to meeting and achieving departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing retail operations or specialty/disease state specific pharmaceutical management.
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent advanced degree.
Active Pharmacist License in good standing in Arizona with ability to be multi-state licensed.
Experience with personnel management, and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Pay Range
$65.48 - $94.95 /hour
