This vacancy is located within theRehabilitation Department at Central Louisiana State Hospital in Pineville, LA.

This position will be filled as a temporary,part-timeClassified WAE appointment. WORKING UP TO 1,245 HOURS WITHIN A 12 MONTH PERIOD.

Beautician 2 WAE pay is $12.25 up to $22.05

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for providing barber/beautician services to clientele within Central Louisiana State Hospital (CLSH) on a reoccurring monthly basis.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice cosmetology plus six months experience as a licensed cosmetologist.

To coordinate the operation of a beauty shop and to perform a variety of skilled grooming tasks.

Level of Work:

Advanced.

Supervision Received:

Broad direction from an administrative official.

Supervision Exercised:

Functional over clients/residents or volunteers as assigned on a project basis.

Location of Work:

May be used by all state agencies having beauty shops.

Job Distinctions:

Differs from Beautician 1 by full responsibility for coordinating the operation of a beauty shop and performing skilled grooming tasks.

Differs from Beautician Supervisory by lack of full supervisory responsibility.

Examples of Work

Coordinates and participates in the operation of the beauty shop.

Requisitions supplies and materials as needed in the operation of the beauty shop.

Shampoos and cuts hair, gives facials, hair and scalp treatments, manicures, permanents, and other beauty treatments.

Maintains the beauty shop and equipment in a sanitary condition and sterilizes equipment after use.

Maintains accurate count of various procedures performed on clients/residents for reporting purposes.

Instructs clients/residents in elementary beauty care and good grooming.

May supervise clients/residents or volunteers in the activities of a beauty shop.
