Position Summary
The Application Engineer plays a critical role in supporting Goulds Pumps network of distributors serving the municipal markets. This position serves as a technical expert, providing comprehensive application engineering support to empower our distributors to effectively serve municipal customers. The Application Engineer will leverage their comprehensive knowledge of pumps, hydraulics, and municipal water/wastewater systems to assist with pump selections, scope of supply development, specification and P&ID reviews, and utilization of Goulds Pumps quoting software. While primarily focused on supporting our distributors, this role may occasionally involve quoting customers directly. This position is essential for ensuring our municipal reps have the resources and expertise needed to deliver exceptional solutions and drive sales growth in the municipal market.
This role offers a financial bonus opportunity, directly tied to the overall success of the US municipal distribution network in meeting the order target.
This role would reside in one of our ITT offices inPlacentia, California; Colfax, North Carolina; or Chicago, Illinois.
Remote candidates may also be considered.
Essential Responsibilities
May include:
Analyze, interpret, and comment on customer specifications, P&ID’s, and other tender documents.
Use proprietary software to select optimal pumps, generate scope of supply, and submit orders.
Collaborate with outside vendors to solicit quotes for equipment.
Effectively process orders and manage any issues that arise.
Serve as a liaison between operations, distribution, and the customer.
Provide technical support to customers and distributors.
Position Requirements
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Proficiency with MS Office and pump selection software
Self-starter with a positive attitude
Highly organized with ability to handle multiple tasks with quick turnaround requirements
Knowledge of municipal water and wastewater systems is preferred
Knowledge of typical municipal tender process is preferred
Experience:
10+ years’ experience in rotating equipment, ideally pumps.
Preference for candidates with experience in the municipal water/wastewater market
Education:
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Equal Pay Act Range
Between 100,100.00 and 149,700.00, depending on location and experience level.
