MARTIN-TYRRELL-WASHINGTON Dental Assistant in Plymouth, North Carolina
The Dental Health Program will offer clinical restorative, preventive, and educational services to underserved populations. The Washington County Dental Office provides services for children, adults, and prenatal patients. The Mobile Dental Unit will deliver services to the general community, including school-aged children. The Dental Assistant will assist directly with all treatments provided by the dentist and will also provide direct patient care under the dentist's direct supervision, as permitted by North Carolina Dental Law. This includes the delivery of preventive, restorative, and emergency dental care for children, adolescents, and adults.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Considerable knowledge of dental equipment, instruments, and procedures; Considerable knowledge of front office procedures; Considerable knowledge of preparation methods and dental materials; Ability to maintain records, inventories, and patient histories; Ability to deal with patients in a considerate and sensitive manner
Minimum Education and Experience
Completion of a dental assistant program from an appropriately accredited institution and
one year of on-the-job training as a dental assistant required x-ray training when needed. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
