As the Head Start/EHS Child Development Manager for BRAD Child Development Programs you

will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education services to

children aged from birth to five. This position requires meticulous oversight of program

compliance with Head Start Performance Standards (1302.21-103) across 10 sites in Clay,

Randolph, and Lawrence counties. Reporting directly to the Program Director, you will lead a team

of Mentor Coaches and collaborate closely with various content area managers to

uphold program integrity, foster optimal teacher-child interactions, and facilitate seamless

transitions for children and families.

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversight and Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to Head Start Performance Standards (1302.21-103) across all programmatic aspects.
  • Establish, follow, and maintain policies and procedures in alignment with federal guidelines.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Creative Curriculum, Coaching to Fidelity, Teaching Strategies, CLASS, Practice-Based Coaching and other relevant educational frameworks.

Supervision and Team Management:

  • Provide supervision and support to the Mentor Coaching team, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with the Disabilities and Mental Health Manager and other content and functional area managers to ensure holistic program delivery.
  • Teacher Support and Development: Monitor and enhance effective teacher-child interactions using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS).
  • Conduct regular screenings and assessments, referring children to appropriate services as needed.

Transitions and School Readiness:

  • Support transitions for children between Head Start/EHS programs and kindergarten.
  • Establish, monitor, and track school readiness goals, ensuring alignment with individualized child development plans & public school expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present program updates and initiatives to stakeholders, including the Parent Policy Council and Board of Directors.
  • Record-Keeping and Reporting Practices: Prepare site visit reports, utilizing monitoring tools and internal data system reporting

Professional Development and Training Initiatives:

  • Plan and execute training programs tailored for the Mentor Coaching team and all classroom staff. These sessions will focus on equipping staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively complete Individual Professional Development Plans..

Data-Informed In-Service:

  • Develop and implement data-informed in-service training sessions on a quarterly basis. Utilize assessment data and staff feedback to ensure the content is relevant and addresses the teams evolving needs.

Mentor Coach Training Schedule:

  • Design and implement a structured training schedule specifically for the Mentor Coach Team. This schedule will include topics such as curriculum implementation, effective communication strategies, and practice-based coaching models to enhance their ability to support classroom staff effectively.
