Designs, implements, and maintains security measures within cloud environments to protect Siemens’ digital assets and data. Partners and collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce security policies, identify vulnerabilities, and create robust security solutions for cloud-based systems. Job tasks include:

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive cloud security strategy aligned with the organization's goals including internal and external compliance requirements.

  • Designs and architects secure cloud solutions, considering aspects such as network security, access management, encryption, and data protection.

  • Continuously monitors cloud environments for security threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalies. Implements proactive measures and incident response plans to address cloud security incidents effectively.

  • Hosts weekly vulnerability meeting with stakeholders to review security threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalies of the cloud systems.

  • Ensures cloud security practices adhere to industry standards and regulatory compliance.

  • Collaborates with development, operations, and IT teams to educate and enforce security best practices. Works with IT teams and business owners to verify that the cloud environment reference architecture aligns with the business processes and requirements.

  • Verifies the required security controls are properly implemented in cloud projects.

  • Works closely with the Siemens Cloud Security Office team to verify visibility into cloud environments and identify potential threats and suspicious events. Revises and develops processes to strengthen the cloud Security Operations Framework.

  • Provides input and insight into risk mitigation and information security architecture considerations.

  • Drafts and delivers briefs and security summaries to stakeholders for Siemens cloud systems.

  • Operates under limited guidance. Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.

  • Regularly exercises independent judgment on matters of significance including designing and developing solutions to problems and making recommendations on new processes, tools, and services that can impact multiple projects and other functions.

  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions. Conducts security assessments, security authorizations, and evaluations of applications and systems processing sensitive; and assesses technology to ensure that security vulnerabilities are identified and remediated.

  • Develops and maintains IT security documentation, including system security plan, risk assessment, contingency plan, incident response plan, IT security policies and procedures, etc.

  • Monitor networking, firewalls, security policies, routing, failover, HA/backup/restore, disaster recovery, cloud storage, security trends and patches/updates, monitoring tools, scale testing and cloud application deployment

  • Define and implement ops reporting and support dashboards & manage platform operations support

  • Manage and develop automation to support zero-downtime infrastructure changes across multiple globally distributed systems

  • Define, implement, manage, and improve operational support processes

  • Manage and participate in operational coverage amongst operation team members

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, Experience, and people skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or 5+ years related experience.

  • 5+ years of information security experience and 3 years of cloud security experience with an understanding of industry compliance and security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC1 and 2)

  • Strong communication skills to work across multiple teams, and customers.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent, demonstrated process management skills, project, and goal oriented.

  • Personable, approachable, and readily accepting of change; able to work cohesively with a variety of talented individuals within the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In depth working experience in cloud computing technologies, AWS and/or Azure.

  • Hands-on technical experience in designing, building and securing AWS and Azure services.

  • Practical knowledge and have implemented DevSecOps frameworks and methodologies.

  • Working knowledge of traditional security controls and technologies, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), public key infrastructure (PKI), identity and access management (IDAM) systems, antivirus and firewalls, in addition to newer offerings such as endpoint detection and response (EDR), threat intelligence platforms, security automation and orchestration, deception technologies and application controls.

  • Experience working in DevOps environment with an ability to review and script/code.

  • Working with code management tooling such as Github or Gitlab

  • Knowledge of securing Kubernetes, Docker Containers, Server less environments

  • Strongly prefer at least 1 relevant security-related certification from AWS or Azure or ISC2 CCSP Certified Cloud Security Professional, ITIL Certification(s), or CCNA/P
