Robert Half Bookkeeper in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are in search of a Bookkeeper to become a part of our industrial sector team located in Richmond, Virginia, United States. In this role, you'll be expected to work independently, utilizing your excellent computer skills and extensive payroll experience to manage customer credit applications and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities:

• Independently proof and verify your own work for accuracy and completeness

• Utilize Quickbooks software to manage and oversee bookkeeping activities

• Prioritize workload to meet deadlines and organizational objectives

• Process weekly payroll for a large number of employees utilizing Sage Software

• Handle garnishments and child support processing as part of payroll duties

• Conduct various payroll reporting tasks to ensure accurate and timely reporting

• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll for rental company

• Manage monthly equipment billing and ensure all costs are accurately captured and reported

• Track forms and documentation for rental company to ensure compliance and accuracy

• Undertake other duties as needed to support the overall business objectives and finance department. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or related field

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and data entry

• Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Capability to perform bank reconciliations

• Expertise in bookkeeping practices and principles

• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for bookkeeping operations

• Experience with month-end close procedures

• Knowledge of payroll processes and systems

• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software

• Experience in the construction industry is preferred

• Familiarity with accounting procedures for construction projects

• Proven experience in construction industry bookkeeping

• Ability to handle the accounting of construction projects.
