Accounts Receivable Specialist
The Accounts Receivable Specialist at The Hochstein School provides customer support to students and their families while managing key financial processes, including billing, payment processing, and collections. This position will report to the Finance Manager with support as needed from the Director of Business Operations.
Duties:
Assist students and families with inquiries regarding their tuition accounts, while coordinating with the Dean Staff as needed Prepare and process contract billing for the Expressive Arts Department Prepare and process billing for self-directed students Prepare building rental invoices and follow up with payments as necessary Generate and distribute student invoices and statements Post payments and deposits accurately to student accounts. Prepare and process bank deposits Provide weekly deposit reports and corresponding updates to development department Post work-study and payroll credits for tuition deductions to ACTIVE Net on a bi-weekly basis. Review aging monthly and follow up with delinquent accounts as necessary to collect past due balances Manage accounts sent to collections to take further action Provide quarterly reports on collection activities to the Finance Manager and Deans Contact customers with credit balances annually to discuss refund options, holding credits for future enrollment, or potential donations. Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
Interest in Hochsteins mission High proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel & Word and 10-key by touch Experience with accounting software, QuickBooks preferred At least 2 years of related work experience Certification/Associates degree or higher in Accounting preferred Excellent attention to detail, high degree of precision and accuracy Helpful, enthusiastic attitude and customer service skills Excellent, professional communication skills, oral and written Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Trustworthiness; integrity; reliability; flexibility Proven ability to meet deadlines Proven ability to carry out duties effectively and accurately with minimal supervision
Regular Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday Friday 9:00am 5:00pm Hours and days may be adjusted according to the needs of the School and the employees schedule, as mutually agreed.
Salary Range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending upon qualifications and experience.
