Eastman Kodak Company Skilled Trades Mechanic-Pipefitter in Rochester, New York

Role Overview

The Pipefitter is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining building service piping, related to water, waste water, steam, compressed air/gases, and chemistry delivery into buildings across Kodak Rochester Facilities.

Responsibilities:

* Pipefitter to provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install and make improvements on building system equipment and building general systems (includes process piping, building service piping, pneumatics, and hydraulics) to Kodak standards.
* Ability to work with variety of materials and piping system components (stainless steel, steel, glass-lined, plastic, copper, fiber cast, soldering, solvent welding, threading etc.)
* Ability to achieve a high level of process expertise to effectively troubleshoot and repair equipment, including root cause analysis.
* Includes maintenance of steam traps, specialized valves, filtration systems, steam ejectors, and other specialized equipment.
* Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools.
* Flexibility to change based on priorities
* Some experience or expertise in mechanical, HVAC equipment and process controls would be a plus.
* Welding certification a plus.

* Maintain a clean work area and operate in a safe manner at all time.
* Must demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills
* Ability to read pipe and machine drawing specifications to determine layout of pipe systems.
* Understanding of piping codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)
* Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
* Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills - daily communications with team and internal and external customers/tenants
* Team player - willing be flexible, often work in other areas and with other trades as needed to support team.
* Significant walking, climbing stairs or other means of mobility.
* Wears protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or governmental regulations.
* Certified to operate equipment such as Man lift, Boom lift, fork truck, etc.
* Necessary hand tools to do perform daily task.
* Backflow testing if certified

Knowledge:
* Excellent customer service skills required, daily interface with both internal Kodak and external tenant needs.
* Understands concepts of lean manufacturing to drive improvement in day-to-day work.
* A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in interactions with building occupants, contractors and team members.
* Experienced with safe work practices/requirements and ensuring compliance.
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills
* Strong team player
* Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work cooperatively within a team environment
* Able to organize/prioritize personal workload
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing work environment
