Our Corporate offices located in Romeoville, IL, is seeking a Transportation & Logistics Manager
Pay and Benefits:
Salary | $95,000 - $100,000/ year

Job Duties:
Manage the transportation budget, review and approve all department expenses.
Manage the logistics coordinators, who optimize purchase order consolidation opportunities.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.
Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures.
Manage the company’s car leasing program with Emkay and truck leasing program with Penske.
Manage dedicated driver programs – CRST, Brown Logistics, JB Hunt, Ruan, and AIM Integrated.
Review market trends for transportation rates and negotiate pricing programs accordingly with outside asset-based carriers and brokers.
Audit and approve freight invoices for accuracy.
Be an available resource to Plant Managers, General Managers, Sales, Purchasing and other operating personnel on helping to resolve any transportation related problems or issues that may arise.
Purchase new trailers and conestogas as necessary and manage the timely completion of federal annual inspections.
Resolve transportation-related issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards, including DOT and insurance requirements.
Renew Unified Carrier Registration (UCR).
Update MCS-150 on FMCSA portal.
Job Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Five or more years of work experience managing transportation and logistics for a steel shipper or flatbed fleet is preferred.
Must have experience with DOT compliance.
Must have strong analytical and communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, is required, as well as 3PL management systems.
Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time to branch locations.
Working environment/physical demands:
Works in both office and warehouse environmental demands and in warehouse working conditions and surroundings, while wearing the required PPE.
May lift up to 40 pounds if needed. This position requires standing and walking for about 5-6 hours on a daily average.
