This role is responsible for improving processes and equipment for staking, trimming, testing, bolt assembly, and part making. The individual will participate in machinery and equipment recommendations for new products, contribute to new product launches, and provide input for pre-launch activities involving equipment, fixtures, jigs, and tooling. The role involves creating fixtures for assembly process improvements, troubleshooting and resolving equipment and process issues, and providing documentation and reporting for FMEA, including work procedures and cycle time studies. The role also requires the use of problem-solving tools such as 8D or 5 Why to help resolve issues.
Responsibilities
Improve processes and equipment for staking, trimming, testing, bolt assembly, and part making.
Participate in machinery and equipment recommendations for new products.
Contribute to new product launches.
Provide input for pre-launch activities involving equipment, fixtures, jigs, and tooling.
Create fixtures for assembly process improvements.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues.
Provide documentation and reporting for FMEA, including work procedures and cycle time studies.
Utilize problem-solving tools such as 8D or 5 Why to help resolve issues.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
1+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to create jig/fixture drawings (must be able to provide a portfolio of engineering drawings).
Knowledge of FMEA.
Experience in process improvement and tooling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Experience with CAM programming.
Experience with plastic or rubber manufacturing.
Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing.
Work Environment
The facility is clean and well-kept, with a well-lit work environment. The role expects a 50/50 split between floor and desk work. The plant is preparing for several incoming projects and new programs, and has recently acquired $5 million in new equipment, with 5 new lines coming in 2025.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
