Description

Robert Half is assisting a nonprofit organization in finding a committed and experienced Bookkeeper to contribute to their meaningful mission. As a Bookkeeper for this nonprofit, you will play a pivotal role in handling day-to-day finance and accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and effective stewardship of the organization’s resources. You’ll directly contribute to helping the organization achieve its goals by overseeing financial processes and maintaining transparency in reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage general ledger activities, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with budget tracking aligned to grant or charity funding.

  • Coordinate payroll processing and compliance with nonprofit regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Handle bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.

  • Assist in tracking donor contributions and generating reports for fundraising teams.

  • Support annual audit preparation and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain financial transparency and integrity.

    Requirements

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Familiarity with donor management systems or nonprofit-specific software is a plus.

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or finance required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Understanding of nonprofit accounting, including fund accounting and familiarity with grant tracking/reporting requirements.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining financial integrity.
