SAIC Data Scientist in SAN DIEGO, California
Description
SAIC is seeking a cleared (Secret) Data Scientist to support our recent award for Project Overmatch, within the Navy Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR).
Work is performed onsite in San Diego, CA.
Job Summary: As a Data Scientist within the Data Pillar, your role will encompass data engineering, software development, and providing technical support and training to end-users for the installation, operation, and maintenance of prototype solutions. A strong background in data science, systems engineering, and a deep understanding of naval operations are essential.
Responsibilities :
Pipeline automation for scans, mitigations, automated docker container builds
Integration of DoD approved DevSecOps solutions
Must support 2 x production versions and 1 x dev version to maintain a deployable cyber posture
Zero critical, zero highs, POAM for mediums for 2 x prod and 1 x dev version. Continuous burndown of mediums. Mitigations accepted by ISSM according to finding level established timelines
Stand in for Cyber Principal in assigned meetings as notetaker, presenter, as required
Prepare briefings and whitepapers as tasked in common Microsoft formats
Cybersecurity SysAdmin support for Amazon EC2 infrastructure

Qualifications
Education and Certification Requirements:
Bachelor's and two (2) years of relevant experience required, STEM required.
Relevant industry certification such as: CompTIA Cloud Essentials/Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA)/Certificate of Cloud Security (CCSK)/CompTIA A+/CompTIA Security+/EMC Data Science Associate (EMCDSA)/Cloudera Certified Data Scientist (CCDH)/Certified Apache Hadoop Developer (HCAHD) (Hortonworks)/Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)/Certified Cloud Professional (CCP) (Cloudera)/Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD)/Microsoft Certified Solution
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience with software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts
Experience with frequent scripting language use, such as Python and R and using packages commonly used in data science applications or advanced analytics
Experience with data science, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms to support analytics objectives
Experience applying Structured Query Language (SQL), Non-Structured Query Language (NoSQL), Application Program Interface (API) Building, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines, Web Application Servers, or Search Index
Experience using programming languages and products such as Python, Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, Numpy, Requests, or Antigravity
Experience applying complex mathematical and statistical concepts
Experience applying statistical and operations research methods and tools
Experience employing spreadsheets for data manipulation and visualization
Developer (MCSD)/Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE)/Private Cloud/Certified Administrator for Apache Hadoop (CCAH) (Cloudera)
Experience with programs and projects and other enterprise initiatives for efforts in the RDT&E phase of the acquisition life cycle
Experience in developing, reviewing and publishing of architectures, standards, competency development models, training program documentation, manpower analysis (analysis, metrics, and projections) policy and processes to ensure consistency among tightly coupled work products for efforts in the RDT&E life cycle
Experience in designing, developing, testing, implementing, and documenting network/web-based collaboration tools/platforms for all engineering and business operations efforts in the RDT&E phase of the acquisition life cycle
Citizenship and Clearance Requirement:
- US Citizenship required; Active Secret clearance required; TS SCI clearance preferred
Location:
- On Site; San Diego, CA; NAVWAR preferred
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
