Status: Full time
Shift: Mon – Fri 8 am to 430 pm, no weekends or on call
Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of your job position is to provide spiritual leadership to participants, families and colleagues in the PACE Organization (PO). This person will serve as a spiritual leader and represent the PO as the pastoral presence in the community.
Position Details:
This position will support two facilities – Mercy LIFE Sharon Hill in Sharon Hill, PA and KinderPark in Woodlyn, PA. The facilities are just minutes apart.
Typically, the schedule would require 2.5 days at each facility.
This position will include both work in the facilities as well as occasional home care visits.
Regular weekly visits to nursing homes in the facility area will also be required.
What you will do:
Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Mission, Vision, Values and Guiding Behaviors of Trinity Health and Trinity Health PACE (TH PACE) in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
Consistently demonstrate (leads by example) TH PACE Values to all internal and external customers (participants, visitors, volunteers, and colleagues). Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, propagating a calm environment throughout the office.
Execute assignments in a culture that is shared and collaborative across all divisions within TH PACE.
Reflects the skills knowledge and abilities serving in the role of a leader. Define and share a strategy and vision; align resources toward achievement of organization results; grow and sustain the organization; identify, lead, and embrace change
Provide opportunities regarding corporate and individual worship for participants, families and staff.
Visit with participants/caregivers at Center, hospital, nursing home, or in their own homes to address spiritual needs.
Consistently anticipate the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the patient, family and fellow associates and
demonstrate initiative in offering assistance and strive to provide superior service by exceeding expectations.
Provide leadership for worship services, memorial services, bereavement activities and Bible study groups according to the varied needs and interests of the participants.
Provide religious celebrations for participants of all denominations and respectful of the religious needs.
Participate in center surveys and when necessary develop a plan of correction for department of deficiencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of chaplaincy as normally obtained through a Master's degree in Theology, Divinity or a related field, and must include 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
At least one (1) year of chaplaincy experience required, preferably in a medical or long-term care setting.
Board Certified chaplain preferred, Board-eligible considered. A combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
Valid driver's license and use of personal vehicle
Ability to serve as an active member of a collaborative team and articulate the spiritual needs of participants as well as the role of the chaplain
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office.
Must manage conflict well, have high decision-making quality, multitasking and flexibility to adapt to ongoing change.
Ability and skills to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the organization in line with our mission, vision, and philosophy.
