Location: Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD

General Summary:

Serve as Physician Consultant to the Infection Control Department in collaboration with the Infection Prevention Director. Provides clinical services to patients of the Infectious Disease service. Works closely with other medical services on issues that affect the hospital’s infectious disease service. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Represents Holy Cross Health on Trinity ASP Committee, Maryland Department of Health IC & ASP Committee, and other committees as requested Coordination of the medical services in the Outpatient Antibiotic Treatment Program in the Infusion Center for patients receiving outpatient antibiotics in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the Holy Cross Hospital and Trinity Health. Medical administration of the Infectious Disease Outpatient Practice, Holy Cross Health Infusion Center, and the Infectious Disease inpatient service.

  • Oversight and management of Infectious Disease On-Call Schedule

  • Oversight of the Outpatient Antibiotics Treatment Program in the Infusion Center- Antibiotic Therapy administrative procedures and policies in conjunction with Cancer Center Medical Director

  • Oversight of the ID Outpatient Practice administrative procedures and policies in conjunction with the Health Partners administrative management.

Participates in Hospital Committees including, HSCRC Quality Committee, Chief Medical Officer Council, Antibiotic Stewardship, CUSP teams as requested, and other committees as requested to serve as an infectious disease subject matter expert.

Works closely with other medical services on issues that affect the hospital’s infectious disease service.

  • Develop and foster a close working relationship with Hospitalist Medicine, Intensivist, Surgical, and Ob/Gyn Services.

  • Develop and foster a close working relationships with Medical Executive Committee, Nursing Leadership, and Laboratory Services.

Various other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Education/Training Required :

Current Board Certification in Internal Medicine

Current Board Certification in Infectious Disease

Current license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland

Experience :

At least 5 years clinical practice experience in Infectious Disease

At least 1 year experience with a Hospital Infection Control Program

Experience with Antibiotic Stewardship or MPH in Epidemiology or Public Health preferred

Membership in good standing on the Holy Cross Hospital Medical and Dental Staff.

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
