Description
Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting a Controller to support our design client on an on-site 3+ month engagement based in South Gate. The Controller will report directly to the owner and will primarily be responsible for managing a team of three, overseeing accounting operations and financial reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on controller with experience implementing policies, procedures, and process and someone who enjoys partnering with non-financial creatives.
Responsibilities:
Catch-up month-end close - still closing October 2024
Manage month-end close (prepare all journal entries, manage AR & AP)
Manage accounting department (2 AR | 1 AP) and assess the departmental needs
Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
Prepare, review and analyze cash flow statements
Propose opportunities to improve gross margins and/or reduce costs
Implement sound internal control procedures over financial, accounting and operational systems
Requirements
• A minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role, preferably within the same industry.
• Demonstrable expertise in Financial Reporting.
• Proven experience in Supervisory roles.
• Skill in maintaining and managing Journal Entries.
• Experience with Month End Close procedures.
• Ability to execute Month-end Close Activities efficiently and accurately.
• Proficiency in Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• Ability to prepare and present accurate Cash Flow Forecasts.
• Proficiency with accounting systems (SAP or similar) and advanced excel (sum-if, look-ups, pivots)
