Job Title: Machine Builder
Job Description
As a Machine Builder, you will be responsible for constructing various food-grade machines. This includes reading blueprints to TIG weld parts together using stainless steel, and building crates for shipping the machines after assembly. The role involves both mechanical and electrical tasks such as assembly, small welds, using hand tools, and installing panels.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints for machine construction.
Perform TIG welding using stainless steel.
Assemble mechanical components using hand tools, nuts, and bolts.
Conduct electrical wiring and install electrical panels as per schematics.
Build crates for shipping completed machines.
Collaborate with team members in a highly interactive and close-knit environment.
Essential Skills
TIG welding
Machine assembly (more than just part fitting)
Blueprint reading
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in machine building
Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Pneumatic systems experience
Machining skills

Work Environment
Work hours are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM on the first shift, with optional overtime available. The facility spans 80,000 square feet, with a dedicated 10,000 square foot office area and a 70,000 square foot plant area for storage and assembly. You will be working with legacy equipment and new custom machines. The environment is laid-back, with a maximum of 45 hours worked per week. Dress code is casual to business casual, depending on the day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Haven, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $25.00/hr.
