Job Details:

Tyson Foods Inc. Ingredient Solutions Group (ISG) is seeking a summer intern to join the Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) and Laboratories team, starting the summer of 2025. The position will work out of the Tyson Foods World Headquarters located in Springdale, Arkansas.

The Tyson Foods Ingredient Solutions Group is responsible for the upcycling of co-products from animal production and is one of the largest producers in the world for human and animal edible solutions. With that said, Tyson Foods recently announced an exciting joint venture with Protix to build a black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) production facility in the United States. This internship will partner with the existing ISG core business units to translate best practices into BSFL manufacturing. This internship will also be focused on work outside of BSFL to understand the full dynamics of upcycling of animal co-product from poultry, beef, pork, and prepared food manufacturing. To be successful, the internship will be cross-functional partnering with FSQA, laboratories, and research & development as well as corresponding operations, sales, supply chain, and margin management teams. The intern will be participating in food safety & quality assurance facility audits, develop standardized enterprise-wide food safety & quality assurance training programs, support Tyson Foods innovation and product development projects, participate and lead technical services assigned projects, as well as in other duties as assigned.

Education:

• A minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree in Biology, Entomology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Physical Sciences, or a related field.
• Must be enrolled in a graduate program (Master\'s or Ph.D.) and conducting research relevant to the field of study, with a focus on a thesis.

Experience:

• At least four years of hands-on laboratory experience in a relevant field.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software for documentation, data analysis, and communication.

Communication Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Organizational Skills:

• Highly detail-oriented and well-organized, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Personal Attributes:

• Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
