NJ Employer First-Line Supervisor in Stanley, New York

Anticipated period of employment: 04/01/2025 to 01/25/2026

This job requires a minimum of 1 year of experience supervising agricultural workers on a produce farm. Worker must have a valid drivers license, and insurable driving record. Workers must be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency. This is hard, strenuous labor, under cold, wet conditions in the spring and extreme heat and humidity in the summer. All Workers must be at least 18 years of age. Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers are subject to random drug testing post hire at no cost to the employee post hire.

Crops: (to include but not limited to) Asparagus, Cucurbits, Sweet Corn, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Kale, Romanesco, Hops, Parsley, & herbs.

This job order is for Agricultural Supervisor 45-1011.00. Workers will perform duties associated with this code where they directly supervise and coordinate the activities of agricultural workers employed by Duncan Family Farms. Supervisor is a working supervisor, and will be performing the duties below while working alongside of the other agricultural workers. Supervisors will perform the following duties associated with overseeing seasonal agricultural workers. This is not a complete list: Train workers, and ensure workers comply with employers strict growing requirements. Confer with manager(s) to evaluate weather or soil conditions to develop plans or procedures and/or discuss issues such as changes to planting, cultivation and harvesting. Communicate with personnel regarding harvesting plans, procedures and schedules. Confer with managers to determine production requirements, conditions of equipment and supplies, and work schedules. Prepare and maintain time or payroll reports, as well as details of personnel actions, such as performance evaluations, hires, promotions, or disciplinary actions. Assign duties or work schedules to employees. Record agricultural inventory data. Inspect products or operations to ensure that standards are met. Confer with managers to make operational decisions. Evaluate quality of plants or crops. Coordinate agricultural activities. Schedule agricultural work. Direct activities of seasonal agricultural, employees. Inspect equipment or facilities to determine condition or maintenance needs. Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products. See ETA 790/790A for a complete job description
