Job Title: Machine Builder

Job Description

We are looking to hire a dedicated Machine Builder in Tecumseh, MI. The candidate will build machines, equipment, and their subassemblies by following mechanical and general assembly layouts as well as other written and verbal specifications without assistance. This role involves recognizing problems with designs and parts, taking corrective actions, and recommending improvements for area products and processes. The candidate will perform prototype work with limited engineering and supervision, demonstrate flexibility in high-stress situations, and lead training for new employees. The successful candidate will also actively participate in or lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately report job labor in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high-stress situations, priority changes, or new job assignments.

  • Practice good communication skills.

  • Interact professionally with customers in the plant.

  • Consistently produce quality work that meets or exceeds expectations.

  • Complete safety training on the use of overhead cranes and other necessary equipment.

  • Complete safety training on fall protection and follow all requirements when applicable.

  • Complete lockout/tag-out training and use all required items when performing lockout.

  • Assist in machine setups in the field.

  • Produce high-quality work.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of Machine Building experience.

  • Ability to build and assemble machinery, diagnose issues with machinery, and understand mechanical layouts.

  • Proficiency in machine building, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and wiring.

Work Environment

The employee may be regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock, and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, and painting. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stretch, and crouch. The ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds is required. Vision requirements include close focus, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
