Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled mechanic with at least 2 years of experience in diesel or tractor engine repair, or the equivalent in schooling. The role involves supporting preventative maintenance and mechanical work on large industrial pumps, working with small to medium-sized diesel engines typically found in tractors and farm equipment. This is a permanent position with an immediate need to address a backlog of repair work.
Responsibilities
Assess and repair rental pump systems in-shop from clients.
Occasionally travel to the work site/client location to service pumps in the field.
Identify and analyze problems within engines and related systems.
Perform regular maintenance to prevent future breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and repair electrical issues in pump rentals.
Communicate effectively with clients and team members about issues and repairs.
Collaborate with other mechanics and electricians in the shop to repair the pumps.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure quality repairs and safety.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2 years of experience in diesel or tractor engine repair, or the equivalent schooling.
Ability to use specialized tools for diagnosing and repairing diesel engines.
Knowledge of diesel engine repair and understanding of component functions.
Effective communication skills.
Attention to detail in performing tasks.
Valid driver license and a clean driving report.

Work Environment
The standard shift is from 7:00AM to 3:30PM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to accommodate child care needs. Candidates can expect to work 5-15 hours of overtime per week. The shop is a 3-bay garage equipped with tools, parts, and equipment, including a small inventory area and yard. Mechanics may also be required to travel to the field to make repairs using a company truck. PPE will be provided. The team consists of 6-8 employees, including 2 mechanics, 1 electrical mechanic, and a driver.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $34.00/hr.
