Colorado State Job Bank Farm Worker in Tulsa, Oklahoma
This job order is for a temporary/seasonal position in: (Tulsa, Ok.)
Title: Farm worker
Dates of Contract: 03/10/2025-12/01/2025
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm 8hrs per day.
Duties: Workers will perform work including but not limited to planting, digging, mulching transplanting, cultivating, hoeing, preparing soil, watering in nurseries & seasonal holding houses. Prune, spray, space, water, tag & perform other plant maintenance. Count & inventory plants. Propagate plants from cuttings. Load finished plants onto wagons & trucks. Remove plastic from seasonal holding houses in spring & cover seasonal holding houses with plastic in fall. Assist with building seasonal holding houses. Plant & dig field grown plants, burlap roots, perform general maintenance of field grown plants. Fill, lift & carry various size pots with soil & plants weighing as much as 75 pounds. Plants must be handled carefully so that minimal leaves, limbs & roots aren't broken during transplanting process. Performs any other duties involved in the maintenance of plant preparation & other manual tasks. Bending, stooping & kneeling required. Use hand tools including but not limited to hoes, shovels, sheers, clippers, loppers, & saws. Lift, carry, & load/unload products or supplies. Use power equipment including but not limited to tractors, planters, plows, sprayers, cultivators, power shears, chain saws, high lifts, fork lifts, skid loaders. Must operate agricultural equipment safely, with or without direction. Install/maintain irrigation systems & water lines (under supervision of employer). Move & install irrigation pipes & equipment (under supervision of employer. Dig & maintain ditches. Prepare field/soil for planting. Remove cull stock, debris, tree stumps, brush, ferns, vines & other growth from planting area using tractor, brush hooks &/or axes. Plant, cultivate & maintain nursery stock &/or bedding plants for sale to customers. Pot seedlings or 'liners' by hand or mechanical planter. Propagate plants from cuttings. Perform general plant maintenance. Prune, trim, space, transplant& cull plants to ensure availability of marketable products. Pack, label, tag, pull & store plants by variety. Count, grade & inventory plants. Prepare plants for digging by tying or wrapping as necessary. Drum lacing & quarter lacing. Wrap burlap or other covering around root balls & secure with twine &/or staples. Crimp wire baskets. Must harvest crop according to specific standards. Must select & harve
Requirements: Workers may not operate trucks, vehicles, machines, tools, or other equipment and property to which the worker has not been specifically assigned by his supervisor nor use trucks, other vehicles, tools, or other equipment or property for their personal use unless expressly authorized by employer. Workers may not misuse or remove from the farm premises any property such as trucks, tractors, tools, equipment, beds, refrigerator, etc. without specific authorization from the employer. Workers are required to follow all safety rules and common safety practices, including wearing seatbelts in vehicles. Workers must promptly report any broken seatbelts, injuries, or accidents to their supervisor or employer. Workers must be physically able to perform all job duties safely, quickly, skillfully, and in a competent manner. Workers who have a clean driving record and insurable driver's license may be required to drive company vehicles
Pay: $15.79
-FLSA exempt: no overtime paid
