GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
If you have a passion for helping your community, working with children and young adults in the dietary department, The Wyoming Girls School has an opportunity available. We are looking for a Food Service Supervisor who will be responsible for all aspects of food service for the school. This includes maintaining compliance with the guidelines and expectations of the School Lunch Program, fiscal responsibility for procuring food and supplies within budget expectations, and overseeing the on-campus kitchen vocational program and student nutrition programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.
Trains and supervises a staff of Food Service Specialists to assure large scale food production on a given shift.
Schedules food service staff, supervises and directs work of subordinate staff.
Assures compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
Assures accurate records are maintained that comply with the School Lunch Program
Assists with menu and recipe development; provides nutritious menus, diabetic diets and other medical and religious diets as required.
Analyzes recipes/menus to meet the USDA guidelines for nutrition.
Develops and maintains institutional food service policies and procedures.
Responsible for the inventory in the commissary and the delivery of commissary orders.
Responsible for overall maintenance, security, sanitation, and cleanliness of the facility.
Responsible for safety and sanitation training of workers under their supervision and documentation of this training.
Responsible for timekeeping and refrigeration logs and sanitation records, as well as production schedules.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preferences may be given to those with a certification in food safety and sanitation, training completion of the Nutrikids Lunchbyte Program, and previous experience supervising others.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of supervisory methods.
Knowledge of budget and procurement practices and policies.
Knowledge of food preparation and recipe verification
Knowledge of nutrition analysis and food vendor ordering procedures.
Knowledge of maintaining accurate records and conducting audits.
Understanding of SDS Sheets for chemicals used in the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Culinary Arts)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Food Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Food Services Specialist
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Food Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Food Services Specialist

Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to be on your feet and mobile during your shift, and ability to consistently lift 40+ pounds.
