The Administrative Assistant for the Center on Faith and Justice, McCourt School of Public Policy will provide high-level administrative support to the Director of the Center on Faith and Justice and assist with the daily operations of the Center. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and skilled in managing logistics, scheduling, and communications. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth functioning of the Center’s activities and the Director’s commitments. The Administrative Assistant provides executive, administrative, and analytical support to the Director in a wide variety of areas including: special projects, teaching and course administration, correspondence, maintenance of the Director’s calendar; planning, coordinating, and executing high-profile events on behalf of the Director; developing, supporting, and maintaining administrative support processes; working closely with, and providing support for, other Center staff; and problem solving for the day-to-day operations of the Center on Faith and Justice.
The Administrative Assistant will coordinate activities on behalf of the Director, serve as liaison to senior management across campus, assume primary responsibility for administrative support for the Center, identify issues or problems, prioritize tasks effectively, and work independently with a high level of confidentiality. The Administrative Assistant will also be responsible for assisting with event planning and logistics—both on content as well as administratively. Duties include but are not limited to:
Maintain and manage the Director’s calendar, including meetings, speaking engagements, and travel arrangements.
Draft, review, and manage emails, letters, and other communication on behalf of the Director.
Assist in preparing materials and logistics for speaking events, interviews, and other public appearances.
Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations, including ordering supplies, managing mail, and maintaining office systems.
Provide administrative assistance to other staff members as required and coordinate office supply and facilities requests, handling reimbursements for the Center.
Act as the primary point of contact for inquiries directed to the Director and the Center, assisting in updating and maintaining the Center’s digital platform with relevant content.
Work Interactions
This position reports to the Executive Director of the Center on Faith and Justice, and serves as liaison with University administration, University Deans, senior management, faculty, staff, students, alumni, industry partners and others in the Georgetown community. The position works closely with, and provides support for other staff at the Center on Faith and Justice. The position will oversee the revenue and expenses related to certain projects and events that are funded through RGAs. This position will oversee 1-2 student workers.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
0-2 years proven experience in administrative roles, preferably in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in office software (Google Workspace) and scheduling tools
Experience in event planning and logistics coordination is a plus
Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
Interest in or commitment to the mission of the Center on Faith and Justice
Proactive and self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and flexible attitude
A passion for social justice, faith-based initiatives, and the public discourse surrounding these issues is desirable
Experience with social media is preferred
Familiarity with issues at the intersection of faith, justice, religion, politics, and policy

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$44,022.00 - $73,406.80
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
