Monmouth UniversityAssistant Professor, Creative WritingDepartment: EnglishPosition Summary:The Department of English at Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor in Creative Writing: Fiction, with additional experience in Creative Nonfiction and/or Scriptwriting preferred. This opening is for the 2025-2026 academic year and is a tenure-track appointment.The candidate would be expected to teach 9 credits per semester (3/3 course load), including creative writing courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and other courses in the major and general education program (e.g. literature); serve as a first or second reader for MA/MFA manuscripts; continue to publish in accordance with the guidelines specified in the English department's scholarship statement; after the first year, serve on departmental and university committees; and advise students.The Department of English offers a vibrant environment for its faculty and students. We have undergraduate concentrations in creative writing and literature, a three-year MA/MFA program in creative writing, and MA concentrations in creative writing, literature, creative writing, and rhetoric and writing.
