Actalent Environmental Wetlands Consultant in Westerville, Ohio

Job Title: Environmental Wetlands ConsultantJob Description

We are seeking a full-time Environmental Wetlands Consultant with over 2 years of experience in wetland delineation, stream evaluations, federal Clean Water Act Section 404 permits, and state Section 401 water quality certifications. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a willingness to work outdoors, and the ability to interact effectively with regulators and clientele. Experience in Phase I/Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and other environmental services catering to the real estate industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Travel locally to sites to perform visual inspections, collect data, and mark relevant landmarks.

  • Map wetlands using tools like ArcGIS and interact professionally with landowners, work crews, and other stakeholders.

  • Identify and document hydrology, soils, and vegetation to determine wetland boundaries.

  • Prepare technical maps using QGIS and AutoCAD, and develop remediation plans for contaminated sites.

  • Conduct Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, geology, or a related field

  • Over 2 years of experience in wetlands delineation

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

  • Ability to routinely lift varying weights from 10-50 pounds

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs

Work Environment

The work environment is split between 70% office and 30% fieldwork. Sites are local to Central Ohio, with travel conducted in company trucks. The role offers profit sharing for full-time employees, holiday bonuses, and access to company vehicles. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
