Vertiv Corporation Mechanical Engineer in Westerville, Ohio
RESPONSIBILITIES * Support with the design of Service Upgrade kits and component substitutes. * Create drawings for upgrade kits. Including installation and packaging instructions. * Create bill of materials (BOM) required for new upgrade kits * Create or revise product documentation in CAD, Solid Edge, Agile EC, and PLM systems. * Work with Production and Field associates to build prototypes and provide direction when needed. * Review and approve Engineering changes in PD Cloud. * Perform Change Originator and Change Analyst for Engineering Change Notices. * Provide training and escalated support to technical support team members during the release of upgrade kits * Support New Product Development for service readiness and participate in projects as necessary * Daily interaction with Technical and Field Support teams and external partners. * Interaction with outside vendors and suppliers as needed to obtain quotes and other required information. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or directly related degree or Associates in Mechanical Engineering Technology with 4 years' experience considered. * Must have good planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills. Must be team oriented. * Skill in personal computer use and various applications programs, i.e., spreadsheets, CAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Solid Edge, communications, etc. * Oracle PLM experience a plus. PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS * None WORKING CONDITIONS * Office work environment and some exposure to manufacturing and lab environment which would require the use of personal protection equipment. * Minimal domestic travel (less than 15%).
