Summary
The Manager, Financial Operations, will support NYPA’s Renewable Energy initiatives by managing the budgets, long-term forecasts, liquidity, and reporting of New York Renewable Energy Development Holdings Corporation (NYRED).
The candidate will work on the day-to-day financial activities, including controlling financial resources and ensuring that all financial transactions, systems, and procedures comply with regulations and standards, and financial analysis and reporting. The person will work closely with Accounts Payable, Budgets, Treasury, Accounting, SSM and the Renewable Energy Development team to ensure all financial matters related to NYRED are being managed appropriately.

Responsibilities
Manage the long-term financial projections and needs of NYRED including Capital expenses, O&M expenses, tax credits and revenue projections.
Work with Treasury to manage the liquidity needs of NYRED.
Manage the financial operations of the renewable subsidiary including developing annual budgets and providing updates to forecasts of the business Profit and Loss projections.
Work with Budgets, Accounting, and other groups to manage and create WBS codes, create and manage Purchase Orders and Requisitions and manage the overall expenditure of NYRED.
Conduct variance analysis and work with Accounts Payable, Treasury, Cost Controls and other groups to manage project costs, drawdown needs, and funding.
Update proforma models for operating projects to track financial performance of individual projects and inform updates in the long-term planning of NYRED
Manage NYRED board requests and work with Corporate Secretary office to facilitate board materials and meetings.
Set goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. Completes performance reviews, salary administration, succession planning and resource balancing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to handle significant workload and fast paced environment with multiple projects, timelines and due dates while remaining detail-oriented and organized.
Strong research and analytical skills, including statistical and quantitative analysis and the use of spreadsheets and databases to develop past and future financial trends.
Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
Have an understanding of corporate finance and governmental regulations and requirements is preferred.
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Competency using financial software, working in a Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and Microsoft Office.
Flexibility to adapt to changing financial conditions, regulations, and organizational needs.
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in managing multiple tasks, prioritizing work, and meeting deadlines.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or a business relative field.
Minimum 5 or more years of relevant work experience preferred.
Experience leading a team or supervising work.
Physical Requirements
Approximately 10% travel

The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
