Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare general ledger journal entries and allocations

  • Reconcile monthly bank statements for multiple accounts

  • Prepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations, recognizing issues, investigation, and reporting to management.

  • Assist with billing, collections, subcontracts, and accounts payable as needed

  • Ensure all financial transactions within the company are accounted for and in accordance with GAAP

  • Develop and analyze reports to identify variances; research and assist team in resolving discrepancies

  • Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations

  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment

  • Assist management with a variety of tasks as needed, reporting directly to the Assistant Controller and Controller

  • Assist in financial audits including the annual audit, ensuring all supporting documentation is prepared for the outside auditor.

  • Assist with continuous improvement of the general accounting functions within the department as well as operating functions that are inter-related to ensure accurate financial information.

  • Complete sales tax returns, learning regulations in relevant jurisdictions

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work well as part of a team

  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude

  • Ability to work overtime required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field

  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Previous accounting experience in the construction industry

Compensation:

Competitive wage commensurate with experience. Excellent benefit package including company paid health, dental and vision insurance with a company-funded retirement plan.

Salary Range $50,000-$60,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
